Enterprise Development Including Tourism

Fostering policies and activities for enterprise development by promoting entrepreneurship and creating a favourable environment for businesses is one of CEI's main objectives.

SMEs are considered crucial for stimulating economic growth, fostering competitiveness and employment.
Initiatives and programmes are promoted in this field in order to transfer best practices and experiences, intensify relations and co-operation among CEI Member States and strengthen cooperation among organizations, define schemes for creating new enterprises as well as strengthen those already operating;
 
Since the tourism industry has become one of the key sectors of the world economy, contributing significantly to the GDP of several CEI countries, the CEI is paying close attention to this sector through exchange of information and facilitation of know-how and cooperation among Ministries, National Tourism Organisations, regional and local authorities, SMEs and other stakeholders.
 
Synergies with international organisations (UNWTO, Council of Europe, UNESCO, UNEP) as well as with the regional organisations (AII, BSEC, RCC) are also promoted.
